Kindergarten readiness
Letter sounds, writing their name, counting and sorting, listening in a group, and following a two-step instruction.
The year before the big school
Pre-K is for children who turn four by December, and it has one job on top of everything preschool does: make the first day of kindergarten unremarkable. That means the practical things as much as the academic ones — sitting through a longer group lesson, managing a lunchbox and a coat, asking an adult for help, and recognising their own written name.
Our Pre-K is taught by a teacher with a degree in child psychology and fourteen years in the classroom. It is the most academic year we run, and it is still a year of four-year-olds, so it is taught accordingly.

A degree in child psychology and fourteen years teaching this age group. You will meet them on your tour.
The Pre-K day sits inside our 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM hours, so there is no second arrangement to make for before and after.
We can talk through what your child's kindergarten will expect in September, and what to work on over the summer.
New Hampshire sets these by age. They are one of the few numbers you can compare directly between centers, so we publish ours instead of describing them as low.

We are open Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Arrival and quiet play, a morning meeting, outside time, lunch, rest and an afternoon project — that is the shape of every day in this room, and the exact times shift with the age group.
We deliberately run tours while children are in the classrooms, so the fastest way to see the day is to come and watch twenty minutes of one.

The Pre-K program sits inside our normal hours, and Wise Owl Academy is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is no separate pickup time to arrange.
That is the year's purpose. Pre-K covers letter sounds, writing their own name, early math, and the practical independence a kindergarten classroom assumes.
Tours run Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM and take about 30 minutes. You will see this room while children are in it, and leave with a printed tuition sheet and the current openings for 4 by December.
