A Day at Wise Owl Academy
Every room runs to its own schedule, but the shape of the day is the same across the building. Pick your child's age group to see how their day is laid out. If you want to see it happening rather than read about it, book a tour — we deliberately run tours while children are in the classrooms.
- Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 2 months to 13 years
Seven parts, every room
- Arrival and quiet play From 7:00 AM. Table activities and books while the room fills up, so a child who arrives first is not waiting on their own.
- Morning meeting The calendar, the weather, and what is happening today. In the infant rooms this is songs and faces rather than a calendar.
- Outside Every day the New Hampshire weather allows. Send boots between November and April.
- Lunch Together, at the low tables, with as much of the serving done by the children as they can manage.
- Rest Everybody rests. Nobody has to sleep. Infants sleep on their own rhythm rather than the clock.
- An afternoon project Art, science, music or cooking, in small groups — and homework first for the after-school children.
- Pickup Free play as families arrive, until we close at 5:30 PM.
Your child's own day
We are checking each room's posted schedule before we publish it here, because the times shift by age group and a schedule you plan your working day around has to be exactly right rather than roughly right.
Ask on your tour and we will hand you the printed schedule for your child's room. Better still, we run tours while children are in the classrooms, so you can watch twenty minutes of the real thing.

We deliberately run tours while children are in the classrooms rather than after hours, so what you see is a real day with the noise and the mess that come with one.
